NEC ITPS announces the appointment of Delphine Gilbert
as Distributor Sales Manager EMEA

Puteaux, France – 15 March 2011

Her career

Following a variety of experience in the telemarketing sector as a project manager, Delphine Gilbert joined Fujitsu Siemens Computer (FSC) in 1999, where she worked for the next 8 years. Here she worked as Head of Sales in charge of a sales team comprising some forty staff. Her main task was to develop the retail portfolio through the company’s wholesalers.
In 2007 she joined the teams at NEC IT Platform Solutions (NEC ITPS) as Manager Inside Sales EMEA. In this post, her main tasks were sales development, retail portfolio management and setting up the pre-sales team and the back office. Delphine Gilbert was also responsible for Operational Marketing, organising telemarketing campaigns (generating leads, etc.).

Since the beginning of 2011, she has taken on a new role at NEC IT Platform Solutions as Distributor Sales Manager EMEA, a position just created within the company.

Her tasks and objectives

Today NEC is a leading player for all IT managers who want to think about IT in a different way and reduce their operating costs using avant-garde technologies. The convergence of storage technologies, IT platforms and networks enable NEC to position itself as the only player currently capable of meeting that need by integrating into its manufacturing processes all the constraints linked to an IT that is keen to reduce its carbon footprint. NEC’s aim is to become the worldwide number 3 in IT platforms by 2017.

Within this context, and in correlation with the development strategy of NEC’s distribution network, Delphine Gilbert’s main task is to implement a “2 thirds” model by recruiting new strategic partners for Europe via Value Added Distributors (VAD).

“The creation of a VAD network in Europe is a vital component for the development of NEC ITPS, following the announcement a few months ago of its new strategy centred around dynamic infrastructure. In France we are already partners with ETC Métrologie and Config, and we have just signed an agreement with AVNET. We’re stepping up the development of our VAD strategy across Europe. We already have VADs in the UK, Benelux and Spain and we have just signed a new contract with BREVI in Italy. Now more than ever we represent an extremely attractive alternative, and we need to work on making sure our partners know that,” concludes Delphine Gilbert.
