Puteaux, France – 1st of July 2010 – NEC IT Platform Solutions announces the availability of the ROK software solution from Microsoft, an installation-ready solution available to all NEC resellers.

From now on, all NEC resellers will be able to choose a Microsoft Windows Server operating system in the form of an installation-ready software kit that is available from distributors.

Under this Reseller Option Kit or “ROK” programme they benefit not only from preferential pricing rates (the lower cost of the software reduces overall cost of the server), but also from greater flexibility thanks to the fact that the operating system can be purchased separately. Resellers will therefore be able to offer the ROK kit that is best adapted to the typology of their end customers.

As well as acquiring an installation-ready solution, the end customer also obtains an attractive price by purchasing an operating system and a server at the same time and from the same reseller.

The various NEC Reseller Option Kits contain a multilingual version of the following operating systems:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition

Please note: the ROK software can be sold with all NEC Express5800 servers. Furthermore, the NEC reseller is responsible for installing the operating system and the Windows certificate of authenticity before delivery to the end customer.
